Woodbury is heading into its first winter with two large year-round entertainment venues side by side on Bielenberg Drive, close to where I-94 meets I-494/694. Topgolf Woodbury opened at 560 Bielenberg Drive on October 30, 2025, with outdoor, climate-controlled hitting bays. Main Event opened next door at 540 Bielenberg Drive on August 3, 2026. It's the chain's first location in Minnesota.
The two venues set prices in different ways, but their posted rates point to the same pattern. Saturday from late afternoon into evening costs the most at both. The cheaper times fall at the edges of the day and the week. Families get the mornings and Sundays, and groups of adults get the hours after 9 p.m. If you're planning a winter's worth of weekends from nearby, it's worth knowing which window fits your group before you book.
Topgolf Charges by the Bay and by the Clock
Topgolf charges per hitting bay, per hour. A bay holds up to six people, so the price per person depends on how many come. Rates don't include sales tax, and new players pay a one-time $6 account activation fee. Topgolf also says walk-in rates can run higher than what it lists online.
These were the Saturday rates on Topgolf Woodbury's site as of October 10, 2026:
| Saturday time block | Per bay, per hour | Split six ways |
|---|---|---|
| Opening to 1 p.m. | $40 | about $6.67 each |
| 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. | $54 | $9 each |
| 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. | $68 | about $11.33 each |
| 9 p.m. to close | $40 | about $6.67 each |
The bay costs 70% more from 4 to 9 p.m. than in the cheapest blocks. For a full bay of six, the difference over one hour is less than $5 a person. For a parent with two kids in one bay, the whole $28 gap comes out of a single wallet.
Sunday is set up differently. Topgolf Woodbury runs Sunday Funday at $40 per bay per hour all day, as long as you book online. So the Saturday-morning price holds all of Sunday, from the 10 a.m. opening until the 11 p.m. close. We couldn't get Topgolf's Monday-through-Thursday rates from its site, so this post doesn't compare weekday rates.
Topgolf says its bays are heated in winter and cooled with fans in summer. That's what lets an open-air driving range work in a Minnesota January. The building has three floors and more than 100 bays.
After 9 p.m., Teens Need an Adult in the Bay
Saturday night's cheaper rate comes with an age rule. Topgolf Woodbury's policy says anyone under 16 has to be supervised by a guest 21 or older at all times, and anyone under 18 needs a 21-or-older guest after 9 p.m.
A group of high schoolers can play on Saturday afternoon on their own if they're all 16 or 17, but at that time the bay costs $54 or $68 an hour. Once the price drops back to $40 at 9 p.m., they need an adult 21 or older with them. Topgolf's promotions page also lists late-night play on Fridays and Saturdays, which uses the same post-9 p.m. window.
In practice, the cheap hours at Topgolf split by group. Saturday mornings and all of Sunday suit families with younger kids. The late evening suits groups of adults. Saturday from 4 to 9 p.m. is the busy middle, and it's the most expensive.
Main Event Sets Deals by Day of the Week
Main Event prices things differently. The Pioneer Press reported in July 2026 that each activity is priced on its own and that prices vary. Instead of hourly blocks, Main Event runs bundled specials tied to certain days. These were listed on Main Event's site as of October 10, 2026:
- Monday Night Madness: unlimited activities or games for $12.99 per person after 4 p.m. on Mondays. The Pioneer Press noted that tickets can't be earned on this package.
- Unplug and Play: $19.99 for unlimited activities plus a $10 Fun Card, good all day, every day except Saturday.
- Friday Night Fun: unlimited activities or games for $14.99, sold Fridays after 9 p.m.
- Food + Fun Combo: an entrée plus game play, starting at $19.99.
Saturday is the one day Unplug and Play doesn't apply, and Friday Night Fun and Monday Night Madness don't cover it either. That's the same day Topgolf charges its $68 afternoon and evening rate. Saturday afternoon and evening on Bielenberg Drive is the most expensive stretch of the week at both venues.
Main Event is also open earlier on Saturdays. It opens at 9 a.m. on Saturday, compared with 11 a.m. every other day. It closes at midnight Sunday through Thursday and at 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
What You Get for the Money at Main Event
Coverage before opening didn't agree on what's inside, so here's the clearest version. Woodbury News Net's July preview listed virtual reality experiences. In the Pioneer Press, which interviewed general manager Michael Frisby in the building, he said the Woodbury location doesn't have the VR games or escape rooms some other Main Event locations offer.
What it does have, according to that report, is 124 arcade games, from Connect Four to the Human Crane. It also has laser tag in a jungle-themed room, an interactive video game called Hyper Grid, and billiards and bowling next to the full-service bar and restaurant. A self-service kiosk called Snack Stop, near the bowling lanes, takes quick food orders between activities. Frisby told the Pioneer Press that the billiards and bowling area is something "not enough people know about."
The Week on Bielenberg Drive, Side by Side
Here are both venues' posted prices on one grid. Topgolf's rates are per bay and Main Event's are per person. To compare, figure a full Topgolf bay of six.
| When | Topgolf Woodbury | Main Event Woodbury |
|---|---|---|
| Monday after 4 p.m. | Weekday rates not published in our research | $12.99 per person, unlimited play |
| Sunday through Friday, all day | Sunday: $40 per bay all day online | $19.99 Unplug and Play, plus $10 Fun Card |
| Friday after 9 p.m. | Late-night play promotion listed | $14.99 per person, unlimited play |
| Saturday morning | $40 per bay until 1 p.m. | Opens 9 a.m., no Unplug and Play |
| Saturday 4 to 9 p.m. | $68 per bay | No all-day special |
| Saturday after 9 p.m. | $40 per bay, under-18s need a 21+ guest | No all-day special |
Two windows stand out. For a family, Sunday is the easiest day for both venues. Topgolf's all-day $40 rate and Main Event's Unplug and Play both apply, and neither depends on staying out late. For adults, Friday after 9 p.m. puts Topgolf's late-night promotion next to Main Event's $14.99 unlimited play. Topgolf's Friday rate at that hour wasn't in our research.
Check the Dates on the Fine Print
Some of these prices won't last the winter. Main Event's printed terms run Unplug and Play from September 8 through November 15, 2026, and Friday Night Fun from August 21 through November 20, 2026. Monday Night Madness has no end date listed. Both sets of terms also say participation and prices vary by location. December's weekends may run under a different set of deals.
Topgolf's longer-running options are on its Woodbury membership page. PlayMore costs $20 a month and includes one free hour of play each month, one free appetizer per visit, and room for up to five guests. The monthly option requires a three-month commitment, and benefits depend on availability and may have blackout dates. Topgolf Woodbury's Heroes Program gives eligible military, police, fire, EMS, healthcare, and education workers 10% off game play with valid ID.
The Rest of This Fall's Openings Nearby
Bielenberg Drive wasn't the only place in Woodbury to add something this fall. Moe's Southwest Grill opened September 4 at 6671 Valley Creek Road, by I-494. It's Minnesota's first traditional Moe's, run by franchisee Satnam Dhillon. Official Fried Chicken opened at 1960 Donegal Drive on August 10. Planet Fitness opened September 19 at 1505 Queens Drive, in the former Party City space near the Tile Shop. It's open 24 hours on weekdays and from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends.
If you have younger kids, there's a sooner option before winter fully sets in. The city's Halloween Hoopla runs Saturday, October 17, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Ojibway Park, 2695 Ojibway Drive. It includes crafts, pumpkin decorating, trick-or-treating, and games, and registration is $15 per child for ages 3 to 12. Topgolf Woodbury turns one year old on October 30.
